His tough good looks have propelled him to movie stardom. But Johanna can't be won over by a pretty face. Sam has a reputation, and Johanna is determined to protect herself at all costs.
The problem is that Sam is not quite the man Johanna thought he was. He's better. And for a woman who forgot what it means to be surprised, Sam has an uncanny way of making her lose her self control...

The Name of the Game edition by Nora Roberts Literature Fiction eBooks
This book was one that grabbed me right away. The reluctant gorgeous movie star had to pay his dues, to his manager, because when he was attempting to break into films, his manager took a chance on him, he was unknown and absolutely gorgeous. Now that success had become his he was reminded that there are obligations that have to be fulfilled and he had enough of a conscience to realize that some things in life had to be done to keep everyone happy, especially the conglomerate that owned the TV show and his contract and they wanted him to pay his dues.
The rest of the book spins off from there because when he saw the beauty running the TV show was not only independent she was smart and savvy and showed no interest in him at all, aside from doing his best on her show. Nothing makes a man more intrigued by a woman that saw him only as a guest and all of the other women he came across fell at his feet.
The rest is interesting and just plain fun to watch the dynamics unfold.

The Name of the Game edition by Nora Roberts Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
This is old Nora Roberts when she just told the story of boy meets girl. Classic Nora Roberts. Nothing like the junk she writes now.
As usual, Miss Roberts writes romantic stories, & this story had some intrigue in regards to Johanna's parents, but the story line is typical in all of Miss Roberts's books. I read her books because they're easy reading although rather mundane.
I loved this story! It has depth and a wonderfully determined hero. The female lead is strong but with a truly horrible childhood.
As always I always enjoy reading Nora Roberts. Johnson's relationship with her father has made her insecure all her life. Sam has come into her life and he has a tough time convincing her to let her insecurities go and just trust. Good book.
Love everything she writes. this was a re-read
Once again, nora has written a book that is interesting, knowing there was a reason for her inability to connect t but holding back the reason until late in the. Wonderful ending.
I love Nora Roberts!!
